Admissions

Thank you for your interest in Nonotuck Community School. Choosing a quality child care program is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent of a young child. We are committed to offering the best possible care for your child.

When your application is received, along the fee of $35, you will be placed on our waitlist. Siblings with different start dates require a separate application. There is no fee for those applying with vouchers.

Parents and guardians are welcome to tour the school. All families on the waitlist will receive email invitations to join us in January for weekend Open House events. If you apply after these events, tours can be scheduled once the application and fee have been received, and there is a slot to be offered.

When a spot opens up, you will be notified along with other families, with preference given to siblings of current students, legacy families, and (less common) eligible children of staff members. The date of your paid application is time/date stamped when received. Offers are generally first come, first serve, though the overall needs of each classroom group are also a determining factor for enrollment. The Executive Director determines the best fit for each classroom community when offering placements for enrollment.

The “enrollment period” is typically from September through August of each school year. Occasionally, there is a mid-year slot that opens up, and the Executive Director will again, make any offers from the waitlist of children that fit the age group with an opening.

The spot will then be secured by a deposit of $500 per child, due within 5 days. Failure to send the deposit on time nullifies the offer and the application returns to the waitlist. This $500 is refunded at the end of your child’s enrollment, assuming that all aspects of the contract have been met.

Families who don’t secure a spot, will stay on the waitlist until all spots are filled and will remain on the list for the following years until they go to kindergarten, unless you request to be removed. No additional applications are required for subsequent enrollment periods.

Your contract runs from the Wednesday before Labor Day in September, through August 31, with the first payment due on the August 1 before the start date. You are responsible for the entire year’s tuition, whether or not you send your child for the entire term.
