Afternoon Program

The Afternoon Program is divided into two sections, 3:30 - 4:30 and 4:30- 5:30.

During the first section, weather permitting we are outside. We could be on the playground playing games, working in the garden or taking a walk around our neighborhood.When we are inside we may be in the community room riding bikes, playing ball or dancing. Or we may be in a classroom doing an art activity, playing with play dough, manipulatives and games.

At 4:30 the toddlers and preschoolers combine. There is a teacher directed activity such as woodworking, cooking, needlework, a game or art project. There are several open ended, self directed activities that include puzzles art, dramatic play using trains, houses dolls and trucks.

The afternoon activities come to a close by 5:15. After materials are put away it is story time until Nonotuck closes at 5:30.

Mondays - Games: a variety of board, card, physical such as "Simon Says", and thinking such as "I Spy".
Tuesdays - Children's Choice
Wednesdays - Singing, Dancing, and Movement
Thursdays - Art
Fridays - Gross Motor: Trampoline, Mat gymnastics, wheelbarrow races.
